MONTHLY CHAPTER MEETINGS

WHEN:  Chapter meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m., September through May.

WHERE:  St. Lucas Community Church about a mile north of I94 on Manning Ave. in Lake Elmo It's easy to find...only one turn off Highway 36 in Stillwater.  Click on the link for directions and a map.  Riverwood District Roundtable

HOW TO GET A RIDE:  This is the same date, time and location as Roundtable, the monthly meeting of Scoutmasters and other adult leaders, so just ask your Scoutmaster or other adult leader if he or she can give you a ride.  If you don't have an adult leader attending, carpool, and ask parents to take turns driving.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  The meeting is open to ALL Riverwood Chapter members, and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.  In particular, Troop OA Representatives should always attend, or send a substitute if they can't make it.  Remember, Troop OA Reps, this is how you get the info to pass on to your troop...they're counting on you, and so is the Chapter.

QUESTIONS:  Scouts, just contact Chapter Chief Eric F. (through the Chapter Adviser Al Martin) at 651-439-1399 or via E-mail at  Checkmate25@comcast.net.
(Sorry...we're not allowed to have telephone or email info for youth members).  Adults, please contact Al Martin.

2007 FALL CONCLAVE DATE AND LOCATION SET

We will have our first solo Conclave on September 14-16, 2007, FCA Upper level

Update your calendars!

Additional details, including exact times, will be posted here as the conclave draws closer.

THREE IMPORTANT NOTES FOR UNIT LEADERS, PARENTS, AND NEW CANDIDATES:

1.  New candidates, (those who are elected in the spring of 2006 and are then called out at summer camp), will receive a letter with conclave details, including what to bring, how to pay, where to go, and so on.  That letter will arrive after you are called out.

2.  New candidates from Riverwood Chapter (same as Riverwood District), should plan to attend the Riverwood Fall Conclave.  However, if it is impossible to attend our conclave, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to make arrangements to attend the conclave of another chapter, on another weekend.  Its easy to do.  Just look at the letter you received to select a weekend on which you are available, call the Adult Adviser of both Riverwood Chapter AND the chapter whose conclave you will be attending to let them know your plans, and when you send in your Conclave Registration Form indicate on that form which conclave you will be attending. IMPORTANT:  If you do not attend ANY conclave in the fall of 2006, it is likely that there will be no "make-up" conclaves later, and that you will thus not become an OA member unless your unit elects you again in 2007 or later.

3.  Parents, the Order of the Arrow does maintain an air of mystery about the Order and its ceremonies because of the attractive role mystery plays.  However, the Order of the Arrow does not conduct any activities that are not open to your complete inspection.  The Order of the Arrow Handbook states that "Youths should feel free to discuss their experiences with their parents."  So, if you have questions about the Order of the Arrow, please feel free to call the Chapter Adult Adviser, whose telephone and email address are listed below.
